Second War Memorial

It is being suggested that Ongar needs a second War Memorial. Why?
The Ongar War Memorial Hospital was built by public subscription to be a living memorial to the dead of The Great War. The list of names on the Roll of Honour in the Hospital also includes those who gave their lives in the Second World War.
For over 70 years Ongar has had a fitting and special War memorial to honour it's dead.
It would be a sacriledge to replace this with a new stone monument.
